I’m headed into day 3 of this terrible sickness, and I have coughed my actual lungs out and have emptied all Kleenex boxes within a 5 mile radius. As I lie here miserable, I still can’t help but be grateful for working at a company with great benefits. Even with having benefits though, most people don’t realize you still have to take your health into your own hands and plan ahead for deductibles, out of pocket maximums, stuff not covered, etc.
The leading cause of bankruptcy is medical related expenses. Healthcare in general could be a long heated topic, but that is not the intent of my post. As someone who has personally experienced multiple health issues that set us back around $25k, all I can do is make sure to max out my HSA contributions now.
I also tried Dr on Demand and had a great experience of not getting off my couch, not waiting any longer than 3 minutes for the dr to FaceTime me, and then my prescriptions were called in to my pharmacy. Thought I would share the code in case any friends without health insurance need a quick and affordable dr visit. #coldandfluseason #sickofbeingsick #sendkleenex #healthinsurance #healthsavingsaccount #planahead #financialfreedom #medicaldebt #bankruptcy #mysemibasiclife
